We can offer a series of workshops to engage parents/carers and whet their appetite for Family Learning or, if appropriate, sign post them on to suitable provision.
 
Keeping Up With the Children Literacy/Numeracy
Programme length: 12 and or 30 hours
(mother, father or carer only programme)
 
This course aims to introduce parents and carers to how their children are taught in their literacy and numeracy sessions at school, so they can become confident in supporting them. It provides an opportunity for parents and carers to improve their own confidence, literacy and numeracy skills, whilst supporting their children’s learning. Learners also have the opportunity to work towards appropriate qualifications.
 
Family Health
Programme length: 30 hours
(joint programme only)
 
This course aims to develop parents literacy, language and numeracy skills and their knowledge and understanding of how families can work together to have a more healthy diet and lifestyle. It also provides an opportunity for learners to work towards appropriate qualifications.
 
Family Finance
Programme length: 12 and or 30 hours
(joint programme only)
 
This course aims to develop parents’ literacy, language and numeracy skills and their knowledge and understanding of everyday financial matters. It provides opportunities for parents and school age children to develop financial literacy skills.
 
Family Literacy/Numeracy Programmes
Programme length: either 30-49 hours or 72-96 hours
(joint or mother, father or carer programme.)
For school aged children:
 
These programmes are flexible depending on the needs of the particular community, families, school and setting that we are working alongside. This course aims to help raise standards of literacy and numeracy for both parents and children and to extend parents’ skills in supporting their children’s development in those areas. The programme also provides opportunities for parents and carers to work towards appropriate qualifications.
